Kind of happy that the weekend list coincides with lovers’ day so I’m going to share with you a list of things I do and/or believe in when it comes to relationships:

– kiss your partner everyday
– leave negative things unsaid (goodness knows I’m really bad at this)
– be generous with positive words
– indulge occasionally: an expensive dinner, a new gadget, or a short trip somewhere for no reason
rely on your partner in some important way so that he/she feels indispensable

Happy Valentine’s Day! If you have any advice/ideas at maintaining a healthy, loving relationship, I’d really love to know!

Views From A Train.

We had the best time taking the train and stopping at some of the oldest, smallest stations along the coast line, a little surprised to find ourselves in Taichung at the end of the day. I’m going to try to make time tomorrow to drop off my three rolls of film from the day – can’t wait to see how they turned out – in the mean time, here are some pictures I took from the train as I traveled back from Tainan to Taipei on my previous weekend trip.

Kaoshiung is more than five hours away from Taipei by train but I love traveling on the train, so I didn’t mind it so much. I was very determined to pack the Zenit TTL for the trip instead of my usual go-to, the Canon FTb, for a change of perspective and I’m really glad I did. I returned from the southern city with the exact kind of pictures I’d always wanted to take with the Zenit – dreamy and in all the right shades of pastel – including the last picture in this post. Also, just for the fun of it, you can see my awkward hands while posing with Evelyn’s bento here.
