If I were to point you towards one place to visit for quintessential Taiwanese food, just one, it would be Jian Hong Beef Noodles (建宏牛肉麵). The truth is, I’m not even a huge beef noodles fan but Jian Hong does it cheap (beef noodles does not have to cost USD7 a bowl), generous and really good. Despite my repeated visits to this humble eatery, this was the first time I’ve ever had my camera with me and I’m so glad the pictures turned out for such a low speed film.

I’m a little sad that the focus for these pictures is all over the place but strawberries sure are pretty things, aren’t they?

Every winter, my friends from university get together for a dinner of ginger duck hotpot (薑母鴨) at least once – it’s always a fun night full of laughter and food that warms our bodies and hearts. I didn’t think I was going to take many pictures at the badly lit restaurant but I brought my camera along anyway – my friend Cindy had fun playing with it, she took the first and third photograph and makes an appearance in the last on the right.
