The Weekend List / 12.

My guilty pleasures:

– a Starbucks Java Chip frappucino (so expensive and so unhealthy)
– Korean television (they take up more time than I’d like but I get to practise my Korean and they are so much fun)
– the smartphone game LINE Pokopang (I have a mild addiction)
– naps with Mimi in the afternoon (I hate taking naps but sometimes feel so sleepy and Mimi always looks like she’s inviting you for a nap lying lazily on her bed)
my job (a guilty pleasure, surely, I am incredibly lucky to love what I do but know very well that there are some things I have given up for it, like stable money and my parents not having to worry about me not having stable money, hahaha)

What are some of your guilty pleasures?

P.S. The lovely Ally of petal and plume invited me to answer some thoughtful questions on photography and using film, I hope you enjoy it! Please do remember to check out the features she has made of other wonderful photographers/bloggers, some of them my very personal favorites.

  1. It is lovely to read that your job is one of your guilty pleasures – it should be like that for everyone! :-)
I have really enjoyed your interview on Ally’s blog, by the way!

  2. it’s amazing that you consider your work a guilty pleasure! i love my job too, (and i think our parents are sharing some worries!), but sometime i escape from it to indulge in some other, as you said, “guilty” distractions, like: watch too many tv series episodes, nutella, extra long and hot showers (i know i don’t have to waste so much water, but!)

    1. I took some time to overcome the “fear” of “disappointing” my parents but at the end of the day, I really do believe that we are all different people with different hopes and dreams and as long as I have the confidence of not regretting my own choices, my parents will just have to respect that. :) :) :) Glad to hear that you love your job! Not many people can truthfully say that!

I hear you on the long showers… I like to shower very quickly but sometimes I take one that wastes a lot of water because you just NEED it! :)

  3. Eating waaaay too much unhealthy breakfast from McDonalds after work. It’s so gross, but perfect at putting me to sleep. Working nights will definitely do that to you.

Lovely blog by the way. May I ask, how do you convert your photos from film to digital? Do you scan them yourself, or does a lab do it for you? Any special equipment?

    1. Hello Frances! :) Oh, yes, I indulge in a little McDonalds breakfast myself once every so often. :)

Glad you like the blog! My local lab who develops my film scans them for me, it comes in a packaged deal. I’m always on the look out for a scanner, although at this point it is too time-consuming for me.

P.S. Totally loving your film photos! Adding you to my reader right now :)

  4. I am glad that you love your job (or I can say your business). I used to love my previous work; just like you, didn’t have stable money but I loved it so so much. I hope one day I will gather a courage to do what I really want to.

    PS-I enjoyed your interview. :-)

    1. I hope the same for you, Pratiksha, I honestly couldn’t imagine being okay with working for only money. :) Happy to hear that you enjoyed the interview!
