The Weekend List / 07.

Kind of happy that the weekend list coincides with lovers’ day so I’m going to share with you a list of things I do and/or believe in when it comes to relationships:

– kiss your partner everyday
– leave negative things unsaid (goodness knows I’m really bad at this)
– be generous with positive words
– indulge occasionally: an expensive dinner, a new gadget, or a short trip somewhere for no reason
rely on your partner in some important way so that he/she feels indispensable

Happy Valentine’s Day! If you have any advice/ideas at maintaining a healthy, loving relationship, I’d really love to know!

  1. I like the last one. That’s pretty profound. I never thought of that, but I see what you mean. Thanks.

Also, it’s fool moon today in England! So, it’s sort of a spooky lovers day here :)

    1. Truth be told, I was inspired by some lyrics in a Taiwanese pop song years and years ago, the part about being indispensable. It has stuck ever since! :)

  2. Happy Valentine’s Day, Katie! Today in Finland is actually the Day of Friendship – which makes the term relationship a bit broader.
I like your list and if I could add something I would say that “being spontaneous” is the key for a relationship to last long – nobody wants to live with someone that pretends all the time.
    Have a lovely weekend! :-)
P.S. I love that redscale landscape!

    1. Being spontaneous is definitely important, Polly! I have seen relationships crumble because of the lack of it because just like you said, nobody wants to be with someone they don’t REALLY know. :)

    1. I am for the camp of “don’t let anything unsaid” and while I can’t say I’ve regretted it, I have pondered on whether things might be less awful if I didn’t say everything I wanted to. :)

      Happy (belated) valentine’s, silvia! ♥♥♥
