Welcome to the first coffee shop post of the new year! I’ve wanted to visit Stone Wall Cafe for ages but it has been sitting on my to-go list for the longest time while I crossed off many others which were a lot more accessible. The cafe sits on the second level of a historic family estate in Tamsui (淡水) of Northern Taipei, requiring a scooter/car ride up the mountains. We found ourselves free from any hostel responsibilities one weekday and decided to finally pay it a visit. The gloriously sunlit space oozes vintage chic that many other coffee shops try to imitate – obviously thanks to its 140-year-old structure – and offers excellent coffee. I could easily spend some time there every week if only it were much nearer to where we live.
