Random Redscale.

I have my first roll of black and white film loaded into my Canon FTb right now; a few shots have been taken but always with too much thought. I have a hard time convincing myself that I can go around snapping my everyday pictures on black and white film and expect them to turn out decent, plus the weather has been awfully bleak lately…

Too much thinking. I need to leave these thoughts behind and head out with my black and white film tomorrow. I hope the lack of color surprises me as pleasantly as redscale film did.

  1. Ooo I am excited to see what will come out of that BW roll :D
I find that BW is often quite good at “hiding” the bleakness of weather. And sometimes it’s a perfect match for those “film noir”:ish shots.

I love the photo with the old men on the bench. The golden glow under the trees looks so inviting!

Btw, do you make the film red scaled yourself?

    1. Thanks, Linus! :) I guess it’s because it’s so easy to turn any photography to B&W in Photoshop that I really, really want to take pictures that look like they should be in B&W from the get-go… but still. Very excited to see how they turn out!

Nope, some local labs redscale them for sale and that’s where I got mine from. Although I’ll probably stick to the Lomography Redscale XR, I think I like the variety of tones more.
